For Day 2 of KCWC, I made a Badminton Dress for H in a size 7. I am sure this dress will look adorable layered just as the top does, so this should get her through several seasons.
For the contrasting fabric, I used more of the print “Roundabout Dots” in frothy pink from Modern Workshop. You can see it peeking out in the hem facing.
To give the dress a cleaner finish, I used a blindstitch for the scalloped hem.
I originally made a 6-12 month version of this dress using a print from the Cape Ann collection for the contrasting fabric. This was a present for my cousin’s daughter.
Luckily, I had enough fabric to make a much larger version for H.
I have another Badminton Dress in voile cut and ready for sewing. The next iteration of this dress will be a summer nightgown for H.

Oh, can’t wait to see the nightgown version in voile. Sounds like it would be perfect for summer.
You make such beautiful garments – I can’t wait til summer comes around again and I can use this pattern, we are entering winter here in Australia.
