Last week, H. had her first performance at her new school during the school’s first (hopefully, annual) Peace Concert. All three kindergarten classes (K1 & K2), sang “Put a Little Love in Your Heart” as well as a song they wrote put to the music of “Dancing in the Streets.” They titled their new song “Sledding in the Snow.”
H. was required to wear typical musical performance garb–white top and black bottoms. She was so nervous. In one of my many attempts to try to get her excited and alleviate her stage fright, I promised her I would make her a new outfit. I made her a white on white 2 + 2 Blouse using a shadow striped fabric and white polka dots for the trim and the rectangle on the front.
For the back buttons, I found some silver sparkle buttons which totally made her eyes light up.
I was able to finish this the night before the concert. With being sick and with the holidays, I didn’t get a chance to make her skirt, but I found her an adorable velvet skirt with a tulle underskirt.
Here are H. & J. before the concert. J. is wearing a Chunky Cabled Sweater I made him last year.

Lovely blouse! I think hearing children sing put a little love in your heart would drive me to (joyful) tears! your children are beautiful. best wishes for a magical holiday season. xo
Thanks, Molly.
It was hard not to tear up. They were all so freaking cute! Happy Holidays to you and your wee ones.
What a nice way to calm her nerves! The sparkles are extra nice~!!!
They were so cute and changing the words to Sledding in the Snow was brilliant! Love the blouse — I hope H. was proud of herself!
